Metal Roof Repairs in Brisbane
Corrosion, loose fasteners and storm-lifted sheets are some of the most common issues we see on metal roofs. We repair the specific problem area rather than pushing for a full roof replacement where it isn't needed.

Repairing Metal Roofs Where the Damage Is
Corrosion, loose fasteners and sheets lifted in a storm are some of the most common issues affecting metal roofs across Brisbane. At A Grade Roofs and Guttering, our metal roof repairs address the specific problem area rather than pushing towards a full roof replacement where it isn't warranted. Metal roofing generally holds up well, so most issues we see are localised rather than affecting the whole roof. If the damage does turn out to be more extensive, our metal roof replacement service covers that instead. Call (07) 3523 7110 to get your roof looked at.

Common Metal Roof Issues We Repair
Metal roof repairs generally fall into a few common categories.
- 01
Rust & corrosion
Surface rust is treated before it spreads further, and badly corroded sections are replaced rather than painted over. Catching this early usually avoids more significant work later.
- 02
Loose or lifted fasteners
Screws and fasteners that have worked loose over time are replaced or re-secured, since these are a common cause of small leaks. This is often an easy fix if caught before it worsens.
- 03
Storm-lifted sheeting
Sheets that have lifted or shifted in strong wind are resecured and checked for damage before being reattached. Left unaddressed, a lifted sheet can worsen significantly in the next storm.
- 04
Flashing repairs
Flashing around penetrations, valleys and walls is repaired where gaps have developed, since this is a frequent source of leaks on metal roofs. Getting the flashing right matters as much as the sheeting itself.
Questions we get asked
It depends on how far it's progressed. Caught early, surface rust can usually be treated, but left untreated it can eventually compromise the sheeting and require replacement of that section.
In most cases yes, provided the sheet itself isn't damaged, it can be resecured and checked for any gaps caused by the lifting. A damaged sheet would need replacing instead.
There's no fixed schedule, but a check after major storms or every couple of years as general maintenance helps catch loose fasteners before they cause a leak.
